Blooms from the Heart is seeking individuals to become active members of our Board of Directors. The Director term is a 3 year commitment. The responsibilities of the Board of Directors include:
- Determining the organization’s goals
- Supporting the president and assessing his/her performance
- Ensuring effective organizational planning
- Ensuring adequate resources
- Managing resources effectively
- Determining, monitoring and strengthening the organization’s programs and services
- Enhancing the organization’s public standing
- Ensuring legal and ethical integrity and maintaining accountability
- Recruiting and orienting new board members
- Assessing board performance
- Attending quarterly board meetings
- Meeting annual contribution goals
We are seeking community professionals (present or retired) with the following skills or experience:
- Fundraising/donor management
- Marketing and public relations
- Past nonprofit board experience
- Community connections
